On 09/06/2021 at the consortium meeting, it was discussed in detail WP4.

Challenges

  • Development of a new noise prediction model based on field measurements is not feasible within the scope of the HETMAN project
  • Noise regulation is based on long-term exposure levels
  • Such levels are difficult to verify through actual field measurements
    • Large fluctuations due to meteo conditions  (propagation and noise generation)
    • Low levels are masked by background noise.

Development of a “Handbook” – practical instructions for:

  • choice of prediction model input parameters,
  • recommended prediction conditions (wind speed, height, ground conditions, exposure time, etc),
  • worst case vs. documented local conditions,
  • format of prediction report,
  • noise emission measurements,
  • noise immission measurements (short-term, instantaneous values).
